1 cup fresh brewed coffee, in an oversized mug
3-4 second squirt of chocolate syrup
1-2 ounces milk
Sugar or Splenda to taste
This probably would have cost me $4 at Starbucks. I can't imagine that the sum of ingredients used in the home version exceeds $0.30. Given, a coffee aficionado would probably take one sip and barf, but it's good enough for me.

Oh, and by the way, you're not poor. You have the best kid in the world!!
I recommend a slightly different recipe, which I think you'll enjoy even more, though I concede it may cost more. Buy some instant hot chocolate mix (the just add water kind). Follow the instructions on the box/container, but replace coffee for the water. Stir and enjoy!
